Gemeente Museum Helmond
2016
In September 2016 the exhibition 'Vlisco 1:1 Un à Un' opened its doors at the Gemeente Museum Helmond. The exhibition celebrated the 170th anniversary of the textile manufacturer Vlisco based in Helmond, the Netherlands.
'Vlisco 1:1 Un à Un' showed classic textile patterns, next to re-interpretations and new designs. The exhibition zoomed in on four specific aspects of the manufacturer: the company's history, its production processes, its design processes and the use of the fabrics in fashion and art. This exhibition, developed especially for Vlisco's 170th birthday, emphasised on the captivating visual qualities of the fabrics as well as their powerful symbolism.
