NEMO

Amsterdam

2015

Studio Harm Rensink designed two permanent workstations for the new ‘Phenomena Floor’ in the Science Centre NEMO. Here visitors can learn the scientific methodology used by scientists to gain knowledge, which is a process of asking questions, predicting, experimenting, observing and reaching conclusions.

Science Center NEMO gives its visitors an opportunity to discover science and technology at their own pace. Young and old people can awaken their curiosity and develop own ideas about how the world works. The centre houses interactive exhibitions, workshops, films and demonstrations, where everyone can learn all kinds of things, for example, how lightning occurs.

The aim of the exhibition design was to craft a lab setting that provided a real life experience in which visitors can explore the five steps of the scientific methodology.
